1. chincharella:

I’m getting ridiculous bruising again and it’s worrying me. Trying my best not to really freak out about it, but has anyone experienced this? Any little knock, mostly to my legs, and I bruise almost instantly. Vit deficiency?

Anemia causes easy bruising. Have your ferritin and hemoglobin checked. Maybe eat lots of iron-rich foods like Kale, raisins, dates, figs

  2. uptheeucalyptustree:

So I’ve been feeling sort of dizzy and tired lately, kind of like pins and needles in my head, and forgetting things really quickly. I have a history of mild anemia so I decided to look up the symptoms. The highlighted ones are the symptoms I’ve been experiencing lately. I have also had a light heart murmur, which is another sign. Should I see a doctor about this, or am I overreacting?

Yes, see a doctor. Ask them for a ferritin test in addition to hemoglobin. Anemia can be very dangerous to your heart if left untreated for long

"The police are killing Black and Brown people every day. Oscar Grant,Trayvon Martin, Rekia Boyd, Jordan Davis, and Rodney King all taught us that. What is less understood is the extent to which the Academy is alsokilling people of color: the extent to which it is sacrificing Women of Colorin particular. In subtle and unsubtle ways, through microagressive andmacroagressive forms—from the perverse hatreds of powerful individualsto the institutional structures of patriarchal racism, homophobia, andableism—universities are killing women of color…”
